    Conclusions:

    • While subjective histological and morphometric grading offer some prognostic value, the M/V-index is a more powerful predictor of survival in ovarian cancer.
    • The M/V-index is a reproducible and superior method for prognostic assessment in primary ovarian carcinomas.
    • Further validation of the M/V-index in larger cohorts is warranted.
