External quality assessment in molecular immunohematology: the INSTAND proficiency test program

External quality assessments (EQAs) for red blood cell (RBC), platelet (PLT), and granulocyte antigen genotyping show high participation and pass rates. However, there has been minimal improvement in molecular immunohematology testing performance since 2006.
