The ability of a drug to produce structural deformations and functional abnormalities in the developing embryo or the fetus is called teratogenicity, and the drug producing this effect is known as a teratogen. Teratogenic effects include stillbirth, miscarriage, intrauterine growth restriction, and neurocognitive delay. Summary

A rare posterior fossa teratoma in a 5-year-old boy was successfully treated with medical and surgical intervention. This case highlights the importance of prompt diagnosis and treatment for pediatric brain tumors.

Background:

Germ cell tumors represent 2-5% of pediatric brain tumors.
Typically found in the pineal and suprasellar regions.
Posterior fossa teratomas are exceptionally rare.

Observation:

A 5-year-old boy presented with a posterior fossa teratoma.
The case involved unique imaging and pathological findings.
The patient underwent combined medical and surgical treatment.

Findings:

Complete recovery was achieved following intervention.
Detailed imaging characteristics of the teratoma were documented.
Pathological examination revealed specific features of the tumor.

Implications:

Demonstrates successful management of a rare pediatric brain tumor.
Highlights the value of multimodal treatment strategies.
Contributes to understanding the clinical and pathological spectrum of teratomas.
