Summary

Reduced acetylcholine signaling impairs sleep-wake cycles and learning. Mice with deficient vesicular acetylcholine transporter (VAChT) systems showed fragmented sleep and poor memory, highlighting the role of cholinergic transmission in cognitive function and sleep homeostasis.
