    Summary

    The Carminatti's test (T-CAR), an intermittent shuttle run, and the Vameval test (T-VAM), a continuous run, yield comparable maximal aerobic speed results. These findings suggest that maximal variables from both tests can be interchangeably used in training program design.

    Conclusions:

    • Maximal aerobic speed and maximal heart rate derived from T-CAR and T-VAM are comparable and can be used interchangeably in training programs.
    • T-CAR is a valid field test for assessing aerobic fitness and may be preferable for prescribing intermittent training.
    • While TTE differs, the interchangeability of maximal variables supports the use of T-CAR as an effective alternative to continuous tests.
