Diabetes mellitus with normal renal function is associated with anaemia

Diabetic patients with normal kidney function have higher rates of anemia. This study found anemia in 10.8% of diabetics versus 2.7% of non-diabetics, indicating diabetes is an independent risk factor for anemia.
