Summary

A new restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) linkage map was created for diploid alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) to aid in crop improvement. This map reveals segregation distortion, supporting the maximum heterozygote theory for enhanced alfalfa vigor.
