Summary

This study found that moderate oxygen levels (28-33%) during surgery for head and neck cancer patients pretreated with bleomycin did not increase acute respiratory insufficiency. Most patients experienced no postoperative respiratory issues, challenging previous recommendations for lower oxygen concentrations.
