Abstract:
In order to improve the experience for diabetic children in schools and out-of-school care facilities, a diabetology department and healthcare network undertook a review with the local school medical service. Interviews were carried out to identify the difficulties which can arise and actions were put in place to overcome them. School staff, child care workers and health care professionals worked alongside families in order to facilitate life at school for children with diabetes.
