Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the impact of a modified medication therapy management (MTM) program integrated into a self-efficacy workshop on symptom burden among adults with activity limitations.
  • To compare this intervention against the workshop alone and usual care.

Main Methods:

  • A three-group randomized controlled trial was conducted with adults aged 40 and older reporting activity limitations.
  • Participants attended 8 weekly 2-hour "Living Well With a Disability" (LWD) workshop sessions, with one group also receiving a collaborative medication management (CMM) module.
  • Symptom burden was assessed using the mean number of moderate to very severe symptoms from a list of 11 physical and mental symptoms.
