Deep phylogeographical structure and parallel host range evolution in the leaf beetle Agelasa nigriceps

The leaf beetle Agelasa nigriceps has recently and repeatedly evolved to use a new host plant, Pterostyrax hispidus, independently in several regions. This demonstrates how insect herbivore host ranges can adapt to environmental changes.
