Innate type 2 response to Alternaria extract enhances ryegrass-induced lung inflammation

Exposure to Alternaria fungal allergen and ryegrass pollen exacerbates asthma. Alternaria extract amplifies lung inflammation, eosinophilia, and mucus production in mice sensitized to ryegrass, suggesting a link to thunderstorm asthma.
