Ileal conduit stomal variceal bleeding managed by endovascular embolization

• A case study involving a 70-year-old female patient with recurrent bleeding from ileal conduit stomal varices is presented.
• The patient had previously undergone conservative management without success.

Findings:

• Successful management of severe stomal variceal bleeding was achieved using endovascular embolization.
• The transjugular transhepatic approach provided a minimally invasive route for embolization.

Implications:

• Transjugular transhepatic endovascular embolization is a viable and effective treatment for refractory ileal conduit stomal variceal bleeding.
• This interventional technique expands therapeutic options for managing rare but potentially life-threatening gastrointestinal or stomal hemorrhages.
