Reducing maternal deaths in a low resource setting in Nigeria

Background:

• Maternal mortality remains a critical public health issue, particularly in low-resource settings.
• Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria, sought to address this challenge through guideline implementation.

Purpose of the Study:

• To evaluate the effectiveness of adopting evidence-based guidelines in reducing maternal mortality.
• To assess the impact on maternal mortality ratio (MMR) and case fatality rates for eclampsia and postpartum hemorrhage (PPH).
