Cerebral hemodynamic changes and pain perception during venipuncture: is glucose really effective?

Oral glucose and nonnutritive sucking may reduce pain in newborns during venipuncture. While glucose lowered Neonatal Infant Pain Scale scores post-procedure, it did not affect skin conductance measurements.
