  • Quality of life, assessed via SF-36 and HAQ, showed overall enhancement.
  • Crucially, serum levels of creatine kinase and aldolase remained stable, indicating no exacerbation of muscle inflammation.

  • Combined aerobic and strength training appears to be a safe and potentially effective intervention for active polymyositis.
  • Exercise may be a valuable component of a multidisciplinary management strategy for inflammatory myopathies.
