[Influencing factors for research ability of resident anesthesiologists]
1Department of Anesthesiology, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu 610041, China.
Objective:
To explore the influencing factors of research ability of resident anesthesiologists to improve research training programs.
Methods:
A questionnaire was conducted in 123 residents and graduate students. And the data were collected and analyzed.
Results:
The proportion of residents publishing papers over the last three years and research skills were much less than that of master degree candidates (P < 0.05) .Senior residents were superior to juniors (7/7; 0/46) (P < 0.05). For residents (esp. juniors), a lack of time, research-related classes and mentor guidance were the major influencing factors of research capability.
Conclusion:
Sufficient time, research-related knowledge and mentor instructions may improve the research ability.
