Brucella suis biovar 2 isolations from cattle in Poland

Bovine brucellosis, though eradicated in much of the EU, re-emerged in Poland. Brucella suis biovar 2, previously unreported in Polish cattle, was identified in slaughtered cows, highlighting its role in disease epidemiology.

- The study underscores the importance of including B. suis biovar 2 in surveillance and control strategies for bovine brucellosis.
