Accuracy of Conventional MRI in ALS
Conventional MRI is not a reliable diagnostic tool for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This neuroimaging technique showed low sensitivity and specificity, and did not predict disease progression.

Purpose of the Study:
- To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of conventional MRI, specifically CST hyperintensity, in a large cohort of ALS patients.

- Its primary utility in ALS cases is to exclude other potential diagnoses.
- Future research should focus on developing and validating multimodal MRI approaches for improved ALS detection and characterization.
