Hemoglobin e syndromes: emerging diagnostic challenge in north India

Red blood cell indices from automated cell counters can help diagnose Hemoglobin E (HbE) disorders. Increased Red cell distribution width (RDW) may differentiate HbE/β-thalassemia from other conditions like iron deficiency anemia.
