A staining method to distinguish hemopoietic cells from stromal cells in long-term marrow culture

A method is described that permits easy morphological recognition of hemopoietic and stromal cells in the adherent layer of long-term marrow culture in light microscopy. The method relies on the solubilization of plasma membrane with Triton X-100 to permit differential staining of cytoskeleton in the two cell types.
