Is cartilage interposition required for ossiculoplasty with titanium prostheses?

Cartilage interposition is not mandatory when using titanium prostheses for ossiculoplasty. Titanium prosthesis heads interact well with the tympanic membrane, preventing extrusion in suitable middle ear conditions.
