Breed differences in natriuretic peptides in healthy dogs

Plasma natriuretic peptide (NP) levels vary significantly by dog breed, impacting cardiac disease diagnosis. Labrador Retrievers and Newfoundlands showed high NT-proBNP, while German Shepherds and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels had high proANP 31-67.
