Researchers discovered a new precursor cell, the innate lymphoid cell progenitor (ILCP), which is defined by the transcription factor PLZF. This finding clarifies the developmental relationships between innate lymphoid cells (ILCs), natural killer (NK) cells, and lymphoid tissue inducers (LTis).
