Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy of Fluosol DA 20% and Dextran 40 in preventing spinal cord infarction after temporary aortic occlusion.
  • To compare the neuroprotective effects of Fluosol DA with 100% oxygen versus room air.
  • To assess the impact of these interventions on neurological outcomes and histological damage.

Main Methods:

  • Spinal cord ischemia was induced in 27 rabbits via temporary aortic occlusion (12.5 min).
  • Animals were divided into three groups receiving Fluosol DA (with 100% oxygen or room air) or Dextran 40 (with 100% oxygen).
