    • A survey with theoretical and practical questions was administered to 174 radiologic technologists across 31 centers.
    • Data were analyzed based on years of experience and prior formal training.
    • Statistical tests (t-test, ANOVA, Fisher exact test) were used to compare groups.

    Main Results:

    • Only 32% of respondents had received formal radiation safety training.
    • The average score was 6.98 out of 14, with 66.67% scoring 50% or above.
    • Untrained technologists showed higher mean total and practical scores but lower theoretical scores compared to trained ones.

    Conclusions:

    • A significant portion of Indian radiologic technologists lack formal radiation safety training, despite recognizing its necessity.
    • Knowledge scores did not improve with years of experience, highlighting a need for continuous education.
    • Integrating and auditing continuing professional education in radiology departments is recommended.
