Insulin sensitivity and albuminuria: the RISC study

Reduced insulin sensitivity is linked to increased albuminuria risk in healthy adults. This suggests insulin resistance may play a role in the early development of albuminuria, a marker for cardiovascular disease.

- Reduced insulin sensitivity, measured by hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp, is associated with increased albuminuria risk in healthy middle-aged adults.
- This association suggests that impaired insulin sensitivity may contribute to the early stages of albuminuria development.
