Summary

Conventional brackets (CB) and self-ligating brackets (SLB) demonstrate comparable efficacy in controlling root movement during the space closure phase of orthodontic treatment. Both bracket types exhibit similar degrees of second-order root control when utilizing 0.018 and 0.016x0.022 stainless steel archwires.
