Differentiation inducers of human myeloid leukaemia cell lines

Abstract:
This review summarizes the recent studies of induced maturation in human myeloid Leukaemia cell lines and provides a list of differentiation inducers. The effect of differentiating agents on each human myeloid Leukaemia cell line is analysed. This review examines the importance of using combinations of the differentiating agents to overcome the maturation block in human myeloid leukaemia. The mechanisms of induction of differentiation are reviewed.

Differentiation of Common Myeloid Progenitor Cells
Common myeloid progenitors (CMPs) are oligopotent cells that can differentiate into granulocytes and macrophages. Granulocytes and macrophages are essential for protecting the body against bacterial, viral, or fungal infections. They migrate from the bone marrow into the circulating blood to reach specific tissue sites where they differentiate and help in immune surveillance. However, they survive only for a few days and must be continuously made available to the organism to maintain a robust...
