Differential HSP70 expression in Mytilus coruscus under various stressors

Heat shock proteins (HSPs) protect marine bivalves from environmental stressors. This study characterized Mytilus coruscus HSP70 (McHSP70) and found its mRNA expression significantly increases in response to bacterial challenge, thermal stress, and heavy metal exposure.
