Single visit root canal treatment (RCT) is a successful option for irreversible pulpitis and apical periodontitis. This approach improves treatment outcomes by eliminating follow-up visits, reducing patient dropout and enhancing prognosis.

  • To assess the efficacy of single-visit RCT for teeth with irreversible pulpitis or apical periodontitis.

Main Methods:

  • A longitudinal clinical study was conducted on teeth requiring RCT.
  • Teeth with irreversible pulpitis or apical periodontitis underwent single-visit RCT and obturation.
  • Patients were monitored for 6 months post-treatment.

Main Results:

  • A 90.5% favorable outcome was observed at 6 months.
  • The 6-month success rate was 100% for irreversible pulpitis and 83.3% for apical periodontitis.
