Background:

  • Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) is a significant risk following reconstructive hip surgery.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy and safety of low-dose dextran 40 for DVT prophylaxis.
  • To assess the incidence of DVT in patients undergoing reconstructive hip surgery using venography.

  • A cohort of patients undergoing reconstructive hip surgery received low-dose dextran 40.
  • Preoperative and postoperative bilateral lower extremity venography was performed.
