Glandular odontogenic cyst: a case report.

Summary

A rare glandular odontogenic cyst was found in a 33-year-old man's mandible. This intra-oral papillary growth presented unusually in the posterior mandible, a rare location for this cyst type.

Background:

Glandular odontogenic cyst (GOC) is a rare developmental odontogenic cyst.
GOCs typically occur in the anterior jaw, with posterior mandible locations being exceptionally uncommon.
Intra-oral papillary growth is an unusual presentation for odontogenic cysts.

Observation:

A 33-year-old male presented with a diagnosed glandular odontogenic cyst.
The cyst was situated in the mandibular angle, inferior to the left molars.
The lesion exhibited an intra-oral papillary growth pattern.

Findings:

The case highlights a rare posterior mandibular location for a glandular odontogenic cyst.
The intra-oral papillary growth presentation is atypical for this type of cyst.
