Mice over-expressing BDNF in forebrain neurons develop an altered behavioral phenotype with age

Abnormal brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) activity is linked to autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). This study found BDNF-overexpressing mice did not show ASD traits but developed seizures and altered behaviors with age, suggesting a model for adult-onset epilepsy.
