Summary

Neurofibromatosis can affect the chest, causing rare intrapulmonary tumors. This case highlights an extremely rare intrabronchial neurofibroma, diagnosed via bronchoscopy.

Background:

Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a genetic disorder with diverse clinical manifestations.
Thoracic involvement in NF commonly includes posterior mediastinal tumors and skeletal abnormalities.
Intrapulmonary neurofibromas are exceptionally rare complications of NF.

Observation:

This report details a unique case of an intrathoracic neurofibroma.
The tumor exhibited an unusual intrabronchial extension, protruding into the airway lumen.
This extension facilitated direct visualization and diagnosis through bronchoscopy.

Findings:

The presented case is an extremely rare instance of an intrapulmonary neurofibroma with intrabronchial growth.
Bronchoscopic examination proved crucial for diagnosing this rare intrapulmonary neurofibroma.
