Defective Wound-healing in Aging Gingival Tissue

Aging impairs gingival wound healing by reducing fibroblast function and altering serum factors. Aged fibroblasts show decreased proliferation, migration, and collagen remodeling, delaying repair processes.

- Impaired gingival wound healing in aging may result from intrinsic cellular defects and alterations in serum factors related to senescence.
