Relation between pulpal neuropeptides and dental caries

Substance P (SP) and calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) are neuropeptides found in dental pulp. This study found significantly higher concentrations of SP in inflamed pulp tissues compared to normal tissues, suggesting a role in pulpitis progression.
