Area of Science:

  • Otolaryngology
  • Surgical Techniques

Background:

  • External auditory meatus stenosis presents challenges in otologic practice.
  • Adequate meatoplasty is crucial for restoring normal otologic function.
  • Existing meatoplasty techniques vary in efficacy.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To introduce a new surgical technique for meatoplasty.
  • To address the need for a large and patent meatoplasty.

Main Methods:

  • A novel meatoplasty technique is described.
  • The technique involves a semi-lunar incision in the conchal bowl.

Main Results:

  • The described technique facilitates the creation of a large meatoplasty.
  • This method aims to ensure a patent airway post-procedure.
