Summary

This study shows that a self-administered home-based mirror therapy (MT) program is feasible and effective for improving function after stroke. Patients can successfully use MT at home to enhance recovery.

  • Significant improvements were observed across all outcome measures.
  • The Fugl-Meyer Assessment, Jebsen-Taylor Test, and Manual Ability Measure-20 all showed positive changes.

Implications:

  • Home-based, self-administered mirror therapy is a viable option for stroke rehabilitation.
  • This approach can effectively improve sensory, motor, and functional abilities post-stroke.
  • Further research into larger-scale trials is warranted to confirm these findings.
