1Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, United States.
Abstract:
Individual and group supervision of psychiatry residents are a critical vehicle to develop core competences of medical knowledge, clinical care, interpersonal communication, professionalism, practice-based learning and improvement, and systems-based practice. Effective trainee supervision involves setting clear goals, timely, specific and constructive feedback with follow-up, and a graduated approach to move the trainee from direct supervision toward autonomy.
