Abstract:
Osteoid osteoma is a common reactive lesion of bone which is a frequent consideration in the differential diagnosis of the adolescent with pain, especially pain relieved by aspirin. The case discussed mirrors the lesion's original description, and stresses the difficulty in establishing the diagnosis in the infant and child where it is less commonly encountered, and hence, less commonly considered.
