Abstract:
Faced with a confusing body of literature concerning the necessity for treatment of internal tibial torsion, the authors conducted a retrospective review of 395 consecutive cases of manifest intoeing arising from internal tibial torsion. An additional Group of 200 uninvolved teenagers served as older controls. The conclusion drawn supports an attitude of patience and observation as spontaneous resolution is to be routinely expected by skeletal maturity.
