Background:

Effective inter-professional education (IPE) necessitates faculty with specialized training.
Developing faculty expertise is key to successful IPE implementation.

Purpose of the Study:

To assess changes in facilitators' self-concept regarding knowledge, skills, and attitudes towards inter-professional teamwork.
To evaluate the impact of a facilitator development course and a team training event on IPE faculty.

Main Methods:

A pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design was employed.
Fifty-three facilitators completed pre and post-training questionnaires.
The Inter-Professional Team Self-Concept (IPTSC) questionnaire measured perceived knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

Main Results:

Facilitators demonstrated significantly higher post-training scores in inter-professional team knowledge, skills, and attitudes (p = .02).
The training intervention led to a statistically significant improvement in self-perceived competence for inter-professional teamwork.

Conclusions:

A dedicated facilitator development course positively impacts faculty readiness for IPE.
Participation in inter-professional team training enhances facilitators' confidence and competence in teamwork.
The findings support the integration of faculty development programs to strengthen inter-professional education.
