Summary

A novel yellow bacterium, Flavihumibacter solisilvae, was discovered in Vietnamese forest soil. This Gram-positive, aerobic bacterium expands the known diversity within the Flavihumibacter genus.

  • The G+C content of strain 3-3(T) was 49.5 mol% with menaquinone 7 (MK-7) as the predominant quinone.

Conclusions:

  • Strain 3-3(T) represents a novel species within the genus Flavihumibacter.
  • The proposed name for this new species is Flavihumibacter solisilvae sp. nov.
  • The type strain is 3-3(T) (=KACC 17917(T)=JCM 19891(T)).
