Abstract:
The T-Scan system which was developed by Dr. W.L. Maness in 1987 is a new computerized device which can analyze time and force of occlusal contacts. It has potential to analyze occlusal contacts quantitatively. The purpose of this study is to investigate its accuracy for measurement as quantitative analysis device. The following conclusions can be drawn from this study: 1. The time display of T-Scan system was approximately 64/100 of real time. 2. The force display of T-Scan system showed weak correlation to loads when loads from 1 to 10 kg were added on the sensor at random position. 3. T-Scan sensor had non-sensible areas caused by its structure.
