Patients with Sjögren's syndrome (SS) exhibit normal B cell growth factor (BCGF) responses but enhanced B cell stimulatory factor (BSF) responses. This heightened BSF responsiveness in SS B cells may drive polyclonal B cell activation and increased immunoglobulin G (IgG) production.
