    Area of Science:

    • Nonlinear optics
    • Quantum optics

    Background:

    • Parametric downconversion is a key process in nonlinear optics for generating photons.
    • Concurrent processes can offer advantages but require careful investigation.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To experimentally investigate concurrent parametric downconversion in a 2D hexagonally poled lithium tantalate crystal.
    • To analyze the enhancement of parametric gain and the characteristics of the generated beams.

    Main Methods:

    • Utilized a two-dimensional hexagonally poled lithium tantalate crystal.
    • Studied both degenerate and nondegenerate concurrent parametric downconversion.
    • Analyzed spatial forms and output angles dependence on working temperature.

    Main Results:

    • Observed substantial enhancement of parametric gain when concurrent processes shared a common beam.
    • Demonstrated a strong dependence of spatial forms and output angles on working temperature.
    • Achieved a well-defined beamlike parametric output.

    Conclusions:

    • Concurrent parametric downconversion in engineered crystals offers high-gain generation of multiple coherent beams.
    • Results provide insights for compact engineering of path-entanglement with specific spatial forms.
    • This work stimulates further research in advanced optical parametric sources.
