Abstract:
The cosinor methodology previously applied to different studies within the field of ethological rhythms is used in the present report to assess the circadian rhythm of escape behaviour. The peak frequency is located toward the end of the dark span in mice exposed to light between 08.00 and 20.00 h. Such experiments provide a quantitative approach for studying some neurobiological mechanisms regulating adaptive behaviour.
