Patients who terminate OMT--how do they fare?

Opioid maintenance treatment (OMT) termination leads to high mortality rates. A small percentage of patients achieve stable drug-free lives post-treatment without OMT medication.

- A minority (approx. 10%) of OMT dropouts achieve sustained drug-free living without maintenance medication.
- Further research into supporting OMT patients post-termination is warranted.
