- Other subgroups included those with obstruction but no emphysema (530 subjects, 16.6%), emphysema but no obstruction (474 subjects, 14.9%), and symptoms without obstruction or emphysema (812 subjects, 25.5%).
Conclusions:
- Combining LDCT, PFT, and symptom questionnaires enables detailed subgroup classification of COPD phenotypes in high-risk individuals.
- This multi-modal approach may facilitate earlier therapeutic interventions.
- The findings provide an improved framework for future COPD research and clinical management.
